Prices are starting points and vary with the 4Cs (cut, colour, clarity, carat) and metal. All diamonds IGI certified. All gold BIS hallmarked.
Carat is weight, not size, and the two do not scale together. A 1 ct round stone is roughly 6.5 mm across and a 0.50 ct is roughly 5.2 mm, so doubling the weight adds only about a quarter to the width you actually see on the hand. Price, meanwhile, roughly doubles at every step up, because larger rough is rarer. That gap between what you pay for and what shows is the single most useful thing to understand before choosing a band.

The last row is the honest value answer. A 0.50 ct centre stone ringed by small accent diamonds presents wider on the finger than a bare 1 ct solitaire, at roughly a third of the price. It is not the same stone and nobody should pretend it is, but if what matters is how the ring looks on the hand rather than the number on the certificate, the halo is the setting that does the most work per rupee.
Not equally, and that is where money is saved or wasted. Cut is the one to never compromise, because it governs how much light the stone returns and a poorly cut diamond looks dull at any grade. Colour and clarity are where most buyers overspend, paying for distinctions that vanish once the stone is set and viewed at arm's length. Carat you already understand from the table above.
