Where can I get jewellery repaired in Nagpur? At any Londe Jewellers Gold & Diamonds showroom, even if the piece came from another jeweller. The repair labour is free. Common repairs, one by one
Find what happened to your piece. Each answer says what the job is and what, if anything, you pay for.
Gold chain snapped
A snapped link is joined again with solder at the break, and the labour is free. Bring every piece that came off, even a tiny link.
You pay only if a missing link has to be made with new gold.
Chain or bracelet clasp broken
A worn clasp or hook is the most common reason a chain falls off. It is usually replaced rather than mended, and fitting it is free labour.
You pay for the new clasp or hook.
Ring too tight or too loose
A plain band moves up or down a size by cutting and joining the shank. Sizing up needs gold added, which you pay for. A ring with stones all the way round may not resize without disturbing the setting.
Ask at the counter whether your resize is covered by free labour. Anything payable is written on your repair receipt before work starts.
Earring hook, post or screw
A bent hook or a loose post is fixed and resoldered as free labour. A lost screw back or a hook that has snapped is replaced.
You pay for the new screw, back or hook.
Payal or anklet broken
Silver payal and gold anklets snap at the links and lose their small bells and hooks with daily wear. Joining the chain and refitting a hook is free labour.
You pay for silver or gold added and for any replacement bells or hooks.
Mangalsutra broken
A mangalsutra usually breaks at the clasp, at a join between beads, or where the pendant hangs. Rejoining it and refitting the pendant is free labour.
You pay for gold, beads or a clasp that has to be added.
Bangle dented, cracked or open
A dent is pushed back to shape, and a crack or an opening screw is rejoined or refitted as free labour. A hollow bangle that is badly crushed may not come back perfectly round.
You pay for any gold or replacement screw added.
Stone loose or fallen out
If a stone moves when you press it, the claws holding it have worn. Tightening and retipping them is free labour, and it should not wait, because a loose stone is soon a lost one.
You pay for gold added to the claws and for a replacement stone if one is missing.
Polishing a dull piece
Polishing brings back the shine on gold and silver. Every polish removes a very thin surface layer, so do it when a piece needs it, not on a schedule. Pieces bought from Londe Jewellers Gold & Diamonds are polished free.
For a piece bought elsewhere, ask at the counter. Anything payable is written on your repair receipt before work starts.
How each repair affects gold weight is explained in our guide to jewellery repair, polishing and resizing.
Will my jewellery lose weight?
Very little. Solder joins a link and adds a trace of metal, while filing and finishing the joint remove a trace. Gold or silver added for a missing link or a bigger ring size raises the weight, and that added metal is the part you pay for.
Your piece is weighed and the weight is written on your repair receipt before any work starts. Check it again when you collect.
When repair is not worth it
A hollow chain that has broken in several places has thinned along its whole length, so fixing one break only moves the next one. If you no longer wear a piece at all, exchanging it can put its full gold value towards something you will wear.
Our gold exchange in Nagpur takes old gold from any jeweller with 0% deduction, valued on the purity found and the net weight. We will tell you at the counter which way makes more sense for your piece.

Questions people ask
Will you repair jewellery I bought from another jeweller?
Yes. Londe Jewellers Gold & Diamonds repairs gold, diamond and silver jewellery bought from any jeweller, and the repair labour is free. You pay only for the gold, silver or parts that have to be added.
What exactly is free?
The repair labour, which is the karigar's work of joining, fixing and setting your piece. That labour is free whether the piece was bought from us or from anyone else.
What do I pay for?
Only the material that has to be added: gold or silver for a missing link or to size a ring up, a replacement part such as a clasp, hook or screw, or a replacement stone. What is added is recorded on your repair receipt.
Do I need the original bill?
No. A piece bought elsewhere is accepted without a bill, and the repair receipt records its description and weight when you hand it over. If you bought it from Londe Jewellers Gold & Diamonds, bring the invoice if you have it.
Where do I bring it?
To any of our four Nagpur showrooms, at Sitabuldi, Gokulpeth, Manish Nagar or Nandanvan, open 11 AM to 8:30 PM.
Will my jewellery lose weight in the repair?
Joining and finishing move a very small amount of metal, and added gold or silver raises the weight. The piece is weighed and the weight written on your repair receipt before any work starts, so you can compare it when you collect.
