How Much Will I Get for My Old Gold in Nagpur Today?

A clear, no-jargon breakdown of how your old gold value is calculated at Londe Jewellers — with worked examples for 10g, 20g, 50g and 100g of 22K and 24K gold.

Londe

Before you walk into any showroom in Nagpur, you should know — to the rupee — what your old gold is worth that day. Most exchange disappointments happen because customers cannot do the math themselves and rely entirely on the jeweller's number. This guide gives you the formula, four worked examples, and the live rate to plug in.

The Simple Formula

Exchange Value = Net Gold Weight × Today's Per-Gram Rate × Purity Factor

At Londe Jewellers there is no fourth term for deduction or wastage on 22K and 24K. The number above is what we credit. Most other Nagpur jewellers add a fourth term: × (1 minus deduction percentage), which silently subtracts 5 to 20 percent of your value.

Net gold weight is your jewellery weight minus any stones (diamonds, kundan, pearls). The purity factor is 91.6% for 22K, 99.9% for 24K, 75% for 18K, etc.

Today's Live Nagpur Rate

The Londe Jewellers prevailing rate is published on our live gold rate page and updated daily. The rate you see on the website is the same rate we credit at the counter — there is no separate sell rate. Most Nagpur jewellers run a Rs. 100 to Rs. 200 per gram spread between their buy and sell rates; that hidden margin does not exist at Londe.

Worked Examples — At Today's Indicative Rate of Rs. 13,800/g for 22K

What Adjusts the Final Number Up or Down

  • Hallmark stamp. BIS hallmarked pieces are credited at stamped purity instantly. Non hallmarked pieces are XRF tested in your presence — you see the karat reading on screen before any number is locked.
  • Stones in the jewellery. Diamonds, kundan, pearls and threads are subtracted from gross weight at a certified allowance shown on paper. The chargeable weight is the net gold only.
  • Karat below 22K. 18K is 75% gold, 14K is 58.3%, 9K is 37.5%. The proportional rate applies. Even at lower karats Londe still applies 0% additional deduction on the tested purity.
  • Today's market rate. The Nagpur rate moves every business day with international and MCX prices. The rate is locked at the moment your valuation begins, not at any future point.

What Does Not Change Your Number at Londe

  • Where you originally bought the gold. Tanishq, Kalyan, Malabar, PC Jeweller, your local family jeweller, Londe itself — same policy, same 0% deduction on 22K and 24K.
  • Whether you have the original invoice. Helpful but not mandatory.
  • Whether the jewellery is broken, dated, or unworn. Pure metal value is what matters.
  • Whether you spend the credit on gold, diamond, platinum, or 925 silver from our showroom.
