Quick answer. On 31 July 2026 the gold rate in Nagpur is Rs 13,240 per gram for 22K, Rs 14,270 per gram for 24K and Rs 10,990 per gram for 18K. Ten grams of 22K is Rs 1,32,400. These are metal rates, before making charges and before a flat 3 percent GST on the invoice.
Against the April 2026 Akshaya Tritiya peak of Rs 15,300, the 22K rate is 13.5 percent lower. Against 8 June it is 6.4 percent lower. Against 20 July it has moved up Rs 30 per gram. The sharp correction of May and June has flattened.
This page is the August 2026 entry in a monthly series we publish from our own counter in Nagpur. Every rate on it is read live from the same feed that prices jewellery across our four showrooms, so it is the number you would be quoted if you walked in today, not a figure typed in once and left to rot. The historic readings in the trend table below are each printed with the date they were taken.
These are the live Londe Jewellers counter rates for Nagpur on 31 July 2026, in rupees per gram and per ten grams, before making charges and GST. 22K is jewellery gold. 24K, at 995 fineness, is what coins and bars are made in. 18K is what most diamond jewellery is set in, because the harder alloy holds a stone better.
| Purity | Fineness | Per gram | Per 10 grams | Typically used for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 22K gold | 916 | Rs 13,240 | Rs 1,32,400 | Chains, bangles, mangalsutra, everyday and bridal jewellery |
| 24K gold | 995 | Rs 14,270 | Rs 1,42,700 | Coins and bars, held for metal value |
| 18K gold | 750 | Rs 10,990 | Rs 1,09,900 | Diamond jewellery settings |
All four Londe Jewellers Gold & Diamonds showrooms in Nagpur quote these identical figures on the same day. There is no branch by branch rate. The live page is today gold rate in Nagpur, and the same numbers are published as a machine readable feed at /api/gold-rate.json.
Here is the same 22K counter rate at four dated points, so you can see the shape of 2026 rather than a single day in isolation. The April figure is the Akshaya Tritiya peak, which is the highest the Nagpur rate has been this year.
| Reading date | 22K per gram | 24K per gram | Change in 22K vs the April peak |
|---|---|---|---|
| April 2026, Akshaya Tritiya peak | Rs 15,300 | Rs 16,580 | peak |
| 8 June 2026 | Rs 14,140 | Rs 15,240 | 7.6 percent lower |
| 20 July 2026 | Rs 13,210 | Rs 14,240 | 13.7 percent lower |
| 31 July 2026, live | Rs 13,240 | Rs 14,270 | 13.5 percent lower |
The useful reading of that table is not the direction, it is the flattening. Between April and June the Nagpur 22K rate fell steeply. Since 20 July it has moved by Rs 30 per gram, which on a ten gram purchase is a difference of about Rs 300. Anyone still waiting for the correction to continue is now waiting on a market that has stopped moving in that direction.
This is the metal value ladder at today's Nagpur rates. It is the figure you should be able to reconstruct yourself from any bill: weight multiplied by the per gram rate. Making charges and GST sit on top of these numbers and are covered in the next section.
| Weight | 22K metal value at Rs 13,240/g | 24K metal value at Rs 14,270/g |
|---|---|---|
| 1 gram | Rs 13,240 | Rs 14,270 |
| 5 grams | Rs 66,200 | Rs 71,350 |
| 8 grams | Rs 1,05,920 | Rs 1,14,160 |
| 10 grams | Rs 1,32,400 | Rs 1,42,700 |
| 20 grams | Rs 2,64,800 | Rs 2,85,400 |
| 50 grams | Rs 6,62,000 | Rs 7,13,500 |
Typical Nagpur weights for reference, from what actually leaves our counters: a daily wear chain runs 8 to 15 grams, a Nagpuri mangalsutra 12 to 25 grams, a pair of patlya bangles 30 to 60 grams for the pair, and a full bridal set 80 grams and upward. To see any of these on the counter, walk in to any of the four Londe Jewellers showrooms in Nagpur, open every day 11 AM to 8:30 PM, or call Sitabuldi on 090755 12053.
The metal rate is not the price you pay. A finished piece has three lines and only one of them varies between jewellers. The metal value is fixed by weight and the published rate. GST is a flat 3 percent on the total invoice value. The making charge is the variable line, and it is the one to ask for before you agree to anything.
At today's 22K rate of Rs 13,240 per gram, this is what a ten gram piece costs all in at each end of the making charge band we see in Nagpur:
| 10 gram 22K piece | Metal value | Making charge | GST at 3% | All in |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Plain chain or simple bangle | Rs 1,32,400 | Rs 2,500 (Rs 250/g) | Rs 4,047 | Rs 1,38,947 |
| Mid range design | Rs 1,32,400 | Rs 4,000 (Rs 400/g) | Rs 4,092 | Rs 1,40,492 |
| Intricate karigari or antique finish | Rs 1,32,400 | Rs 5,500 (Rs 550/g) | Rs 4,137 | Rs 1,42,037 |
Two things worth knowing about that table. First, the making charge is quoted per gram at Londe Jewellers Gold & Diamonds and printed on the bill, and there is no separate wastage line on any of our invoices. A wastage percentage charged on top of a making charge is the most common way a Nagpur bill quietly inflates. The full walkthrough is in the gold bill verification checklist for Nagpur. Second, GST is a single flat 3 percent applied to the total invoice value, not 3 percent on one line and something else on another.
The honest answer is that nobody can forecast the rate, and any jeweller who tells you otherwise is selling you a line rather than a number. The Nagpur rate is derived from the IBJA Mumbai bullion benchmark, which follows international gold, the rupee and import duty. None of those are predictable a month out. The full mechanism is explained in how the daily gold rate in Nagpur is decided.
What can be answered honestly is the calendar. There are 28 days to Raksha Bandhan on 28 August 2026 and 45 days to Ganesh Chaturthi on 14 September 2026 as of 31 July 2026. That gives three practical cases:
One more honest point specific to 2026. Gold demand across India has been soft since May, so counters are quieter and you get more time with a salesperson in August than you will in November. That is a real advantage if you are buying something you want fitted, altered or made to order.
Most gold buying in Nagpur is part exchange, so there are two rates in the transaction and only one of them usually gets checked. At Londe Jewellers Gold & Diamonds the same prevailing counter rate is used both for selling you new gold and for crediting your old gold, with 0 percent deduction on BIS hallmarked 22K and 24K gold, including gold bought from any other jeweller. Payment for old gold is made by bank transfer or UPI, never in cash.
The practical test at any counter anywhere is one question: ask for the rate you are being credited at and the rate you are being sold at, written down, side by side. If they differ, that gap is the true cost of the exchange and it is often larger than the making charge everyone argues about. Full detail on our terms is on the gold exchange in Nagpur page, and you can bring old gold in to any of our four showrooms for a valuation with no obligation to buy.
On 31 July 2026 the Nagpur rate is Rs 13,240 per gram for 22K and Rs 14,270 per gram for 24K. All four Londe Jewellers Gold & Diamonds showrooms in Nagpur quote that same rate, on identical terms, with the per gram rate printed on every invoice. Open every day 11 AM to 8:30 PM.
Londe Jewellers Gold & Diamonds has served Nagpur and Vidarbha families since 1989, across 37 years and more than 5 lakh families. Every gold piece is BIS hallmarked, silver coins are 995 fine silver, and every diamond is a natural mined stone carried with an IGI or GIA certificate.

Rs 13,240 per gram for 22K, Rs 14,270 per gram for 24K and Rs 10,990 per gram for 18K. Ten grams of 22K is Rs 1,32,400. Metal rates, before making charges and before a flat 3 percent GST.
Is the gold rate in Nagpur going up or down in August 2026?
It entered August at Rs 13,240 per gram for 22K, against Rs 13,210 on 20 July, Rs 14,140 on 8 June and Rs 15,300 at the April Akshaya Tritiya peak. The steep May and June correction has flattened. Nobody can honestly tell you the direction of the next move.
What does 10 grams of 22K gold cost in Nagpur right now?
Rs 1,32,400 in metal value. As a finished piece, roughly Rs 1,38,947 all in for a plain design and about Rs 1,42,037 all in for intricate work, once a making charge of Rs 250 to Rs 550 per gram and a flat 3 percent GST are added.
Should I buy in August or wait for Dhanteras?
For Rakhi on 28 August or Ganeshotsav from 14 September, buy in August. For a November wedding, buy in August for the workshop queue rather than the rate. Dhanteras on 6 November is the most crowded counter day of the year in Nagpur.
Why does the Nagpur rate differ from Mumbai or Delhi?
Every city prices off the same IBJA Mumbai benchmark and adds a local adjustment for transport, insurance and local practice. Nagpur sits in a narrow band around Mumbai. A rate far outside that band is either stale or is pricing something other than the metal.
Do I get the same rate when I exchange old gold?
At Londe Jewellers Gold & Diamonds, yes. The same prevailing rate is used for selling and for crediting old gold, with 0 percent deduction on BIS hallmarked 22K and 24K from any jeweller, paid by bank transfer or UPI rather than cash.
