Bridal Jewellery Set Prices Nagpur 2026

The per piece cost ladder no Nagpur jeweller publishes. Vati to Jodvi.
By Rajesh Londe. 3rd generation jeweller, BIS certified valuer. Updated June 5, 2026.

Bridal jewellery pricing in Nagpur is one of the most opaque numbers in Vidarbha wedding planning. Walk into any Sitabuldi or Itwari showroom and ask for the price of a complete Marathi bridal set, and you will get one of three answers. A flat set price (Rs 12 lakh, Rs 18 lakh, Rs 25 lakh) with no breakdown. A vague range (Rs 8 lakh to Rs 50 lakh) that does not help you plan. Or worst, a sales counter ready quotation that bundles weight, making, and a hidden retail spread in a way that makes margin shopping nearly impossible.

For 37 years, since 1989, Londe Jewellers Gold and Diamonds has crafted bridal sets for Marathi, Marwadi, Sindhi, Gujarati, and Punjabi families across Vidarbha. This guide does what no other published source does in Nagpur. It opens the math piece by piece, at today's June 5, 2026 gold rate (22K Rs 14,520 per gram), with the actual weight band, the making percentage we charge at our four Nagpur showrooms, and the line item GST.

If you are a Vidarbha bride or family planning a 2026 or 2027 wedding, read this once, write the three numbers down (per gram rate, making percentage, piece weight), and walk into three jewellers with the same design list. Compare on paper. The jeweller that gives you all three numbers in writing is the jeweller you can trust with a 30 year exchange relationship.

The full per piece price ladder at June 2026 rates

Every piece below is priced at the day's 22K rate (Rs 14,520 per gram on June 5, 2026) plus Londe Jewellers' making charge bracket. Add 3% GST on gold value and 5% GST on making charges to get the final bill. Branded chain showrooms (Tanishq, Kalyan, Joyalukkas, PC Jeweller) typically run 6 to 14% higher in making charges, sometimes higher.

How to read this against your jeweller's quote

Take this guide to three jewellers in Nagpur. Ask each for the same design list. Specify weight per piece, making percentage, day's 22K rate, and GST as separate line items on the quote.

  1. If a jeweller refuses to break the quote into these four components, walk out. They are bundling a hidden retail spread on top of the day's rate, and you cannot verify what you are paying.
  2. If a jeweller's per gram rate is more than Rs 130 per gram above the day's IBJA Mumbai 22K rate, they are taking too much spread.
  3. If making charges on a plain Patlya bangle are above 20%, that is high. If making charges on a kundan polki royal set are below 18%, that is unrealistic (the karigar labour alone runs higher).
  4. If GST is not shown as a separate line item, it is being bundled into the per gram rate or making, which means you cannot reclaim GST credit or verify what is actually being paid in tax.
"Bridal gold is not a one time purchase. It is the first 30 years of a family exchange relationship. Buy from the jeweller you would be happy to walk back to in 2030 to exchange your daughter's first nath for her wedding nath."

Three ways to cut a Vidarbha bridal gold bill in 2026

1. Use heirloom gold at 0% exchange

This is the largest single saving available. At Londe Jewellers we offer 0% exchange across all four Nagpur showrooms on any 22K or 24K heirloom gold. Bring grandmother's old jewellery, mother's wedding set, or family gold coins. We test purity with an XRF gun in front of you, weigh the gold, and credit the full value at today's 22K rate towards the new bridal order. No melting fee, no spread, no deduction.

For a typical Vidarbha family with 200g of heirloom gold at today's 22K rate, this alone cuts the new gold purchase by approximately Rs 29 lakh. Read our exchange gold from any jeweller guide and the gold exchange value calculator to estimate what your family gold is worth today.

2. Choose Nagpuri hollow karigari for showpiece bridal pieces

Nagpuri hollow karigari is the Vidarbha craft tradition where Sitabuldi and Itwari karigars hand hammer thin 22K sheet over a wooden form. The hollow Vati, hollow Patlya, hollow choker, and hollow bridal necklace give Marathi brides the same visual grandeur at 40 to 55% of the gold weight. The technique is unique to Vidarbha, Mumbai and Pune workshops do not have the karigari lineage.

Caveat, hollow pieces carry a 3 to 5% recast loss when you exchange them in 10 or 20 years (the karigar has to remake the form). Use hollow for showpiece bridal pieces that are worn 4 to 8 times a year. Use solid for daily wear pieces (daily Vati, daily bangle pair) that will see 50 years of wear.

3. Separate the daily wearable mangalsutra from the bridal Vati

Most working Marathi women in Nagpur own one heavy bridal Vati (worn for weddings, festivals, family functions) and one 14g to 18g daily wear Vati. Buying both together at one wedding visit saves you 12% making charges on the second piece (we offer this discount in writing), and the daily wear one gets worn for 50 years across a long career.

Why we publish this when no other Nagpur jeweller does

Opacity protects margin. We know that. Publishing the per piece price ladder costs us 4 to 7% in negotiation power across every bridal order. But it also builds the kind of 30 year exchange relationship that makes a fourth generation customer walk back to our counter to buy her daughter's nath. That is the only number that matters for a 37 year old jewellery family in Sitabuldi.

If you are planning a 2026 or 2027 Vidarbha wedding, visit our Sitabuldi flagship counter (Modi No 2) for the design consultation. Bring the heirloom gold, the rough design list, and the budget. We will walk you through the per gram math at the counter, in front of the karigar, with the XRF gun on the table. No appointments needed, walk in 11 AM to 8:30 PM, all 7 days.

Frequently asked questions

What is the average price of a Marathi bridal jewellery set in Nagpur in 2026?

At June 2026 gold rates (22K Rs 14,520 per gram), the essential five piece Marathi bridal set comes to approximately Rs 18 to Rs 19 lakh including 16% making and GST. The full bridal day inventory with kamarbandh, choker, kanphool, and Jodvi reaches approximately Rs 29 to Rs 32 lakh. Light Vidarbha bride set starts from Rs 11.5 lakh, heavy Peshwai style with goldwork and gemstones goes to Rs 50 lakh and above.

How do I check if I am being overcharged?

Ask the jeweller three numbers before booking. Today's 22K per gram rate (verify against IBJA Mumbai), making charges as a percentage (8 to 12% plain pieces, 14 to 20% Maharashtrian traditional, 18 to 26% ornate bridal), and the weight of each piece in grams written on the bill before payment. If a jeweller resists giving these three numbers in writing, walk out.

What does a Vidarbha Marathi bride traditionally wear on her wedding day?

The classic inventory is Vati mangalsutra 22g, bridal necklace plus earrings 32 to 45g, Patlya pair 16g each plus chuda, nath 4 to 7g with kundan or pearls, maang tikka 4 to 7g, kanphool 3 to 5g, Jodvi 2g. Optional additions are kamarbandh 30 to 60g, choker tanmaniya 18 to 25g, engagement band 4 to 6g, and Kolhapuri Saaj for Marwadi influenced Vidarbha families.

How does buying from a third generation Nagpur jeweller compare to Tanishq or Kalyan?

Branded chain showrooms run 18 to 32% making across the board, no per gram flexibility, and inflexible exchange policies (typically 8 to 15% deduction on exchange). For a Rs 25 lakh wedding gold spend, the making charge alone runs Rs 4.5 to Rs 7 lakh more at a branded chain. The right middle path is an established multi generation independent jeweller with 30 plus years in Nagpur, BIS HUID, IGI on diamonds, 0% exchange in writing, and weight times rate times making split on every bill line.

Can I use my mother or grandmother heirloom gold to lower the bill?

Yes. We offer 0% exchange across all four Nagpur showrooms on heirloom gold. XRF test in front of you, full weight credit at today's 22K rate, no melting fee, no spread, no deduction. For 200g of family gold this alone cuts new purchase by approximately Rs 29 lakh. Always ask any jeweller for the exchange policy in writing before booking.

What is Nagpuri hollow karigari?

Vidarbha craft tradition where Sitabuldi and Itwari karigars hand hammer thin 22K sheet over a wooden form. Hollow Vati, hollow Patlya, hollow choker, hollow bridal necklace at 40 to 55% of solid gold weight with same visual grandeur. Unique to Vidarbha workshops. Caveat is 3 to 5% recast loss on exchange. Use hollow for showpiece bridal pieces, solid for daily wear.

Is GST included in the quoted set price?

GST is added on top of gold value and making. 3% on gold value plus 5% on making charges, applied at the bill line. For a Rs 18 lakh classic bridal set this adds Rs 65,000 to Rs 90,000 in GST. Always ask for GST shown as a separate line, never accept a bundled all inclusive number.

How early should I start booking my bridal jewellery?

Custom bridal sets take 4 to 8 weeks from order confirmation. Maharashtrian Vati, hollow karigari Patlya, and Peshwai necklace sets need 5 to 7 weeks. Start design consultation 10 to 12 weeks before the wedding, finalise the order 8 weeks out, final fitting 1 to 2 weeks before. Standard ready stock pieces are available for 2 to 3 week turnaround.

What is the minimum realistic bridal set price for a Marathi bride in Nagpur?

A light Vidarbha essential set (15g hollow Vati, 22g light bridal necklace, 20g light Patlya pair, 3g daily nath, 4g basic tikka, 2g Jodvi) totals approximately 66g. At June 2026 rates this is approximately Rs 11.5 to Rs 12.5 lakh including making and GST. Below this number you are usually compromising on purity, weight, or piece count.

Updated June 5, 2026. Gold rate Rs 14,520 per gram 22K. Numbers reflect Londe Jewellers Sitabuldi flagship counter rates. Final bill varies with design complexity, karigar selection, and day's IBJA Mumbai 22K rate. Every piece is BIS HUID hallmarked at all four Londe Jewellers Nagpur showrooms.
