How to read this against your jeweller's quote
Take this guide to three jewellers in Nagpur. Ask each for the same design list. Specify weight per piece, making percentage, day's 22K rate, and GST as separate line items on the quote.
- If a jeweller refuses to break the quote into these four components, walk out. They are bundling a hidden retail spread on top of the day's rate, and you cannot verify what you are paying.
- If a jeweller's per gram rate is more than Rs 130 per gram above the day's IBJA Mumbai 22K rate, they are taking too much spread.
